Bingo Every Friday Night

Friday evening bingo is a family tradition in Wimberley.  Oldham-Cummings Post #6441 hosts a bingo session every Friday evening (excluding rodeo weekend and major holidays).  Bingo is open to the public in a family friendly, smoke free environment. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or other adult.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the “Early Bird“ games begin at 7:15 p.m..  For the four Early Bird games, VFW members will come to your table to sell sheets (consisting of three bingo cards each) for $1 each.  The prize for each Early Bird game is 50% of the card sales for that game, less tax, paid in cash on the spot.

The main event begins at 8:00 p.m. and features 10 games, with an intermission after Game 5.  Game sheets for these games are sold at the cashier’s table in packs of five for $5 each.  One pack of five sheets is for Games 1 through 5, and one pack is for Games 6 through 10.  For some games, VFW members will come to your table to sell additional sheets for $1 each.

Cash payouts for the 10 main event games are:

Game 1: $ 75 Game 6:  $ 75
Game 2: $ 75 Game 7:  $ 75
Game 3: $150 Game 8:  $150
Game 4:  $ 75 Game 9:  $ 75
Game 5:  $200 (less if attendance is low)

Game 10 is a “cover-all” game in which every space on the card must be marked.  If a card is covered within a specified number of balls, the prize is $500. If not won within that specified number, the prize is $200 and the specified number increases by 1 for next week.

Throughout the evening, members of the VFW Auxiliary operate a full concession stand offering for sale hamburgers, hot dog, candy bars, popcorn, soft drinks and coffee.

Everyone wins at VFW Friday evening bingo.  The money raised by the VFW and the Auxiliary is used to support a variety of Wimberley community activities and organizations.
